INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) – A three-year plan is being implemented by Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity, which will build eight to 10 homes in Englewood, a neighborhood in Independence.
The neighborhood revitalization investment has been a collaboration from many civic and community organizations throughout the past three years.
The ground will be broken for the first three homes in 2025. Permits and plans were previously submitted to the City of Independence. Recently, Habitat has solidified a new home model for these new homes. The interiors will have three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The plan began on Oct. 4 at the first Rock the Block clean-up days. More than 40 volunteers helped Englewood homeowners clean the exterior areas of their homes.
