CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – Charleston County officials are entering the design and construction management phase for a large-scale emergency medical services facility.
Charleston County Emergency Medical Services will soon combine their five departments, like Special Operations, an administrative headquarters, training academy, logistics warehouse and vehicle storage, all under one roof.
The plan falls under the county’s fourth phase of the Azalea Complex along Azalea Drive which focuses on the EMS department.
Division Chief for Charleston County EMS Carl Frehr says this move will better serve the Lowcountry’s increasing population growth. This means faster and more efficient services for the community and the many events in the area year-round.
