United States GP Promoter Slapped With Staggering Fine After Scary Track Invasion [Video]

The promoter of the United States Grand Prix has been hit with a substantial fine following a frightening track invasion. Approximately 200 spectators breached security measures at Circuit of The Americas during the event’s cool-down laps, climbing a small barrier and a one-meter trackside wall to access the main straight, all while cars remained on the track.

The incident did not go unnoticed by the FIA, which held a steward meeting with representatives from the US Race Management and the promoter.

The FIA confirmed that although the existing safety plan was well-implemented, it failed to account adequately for potential track invasion risks. The governing body’s findings established a breach of Article 12.2.1.h of the 2024 FIA International Sporting Code, which addresses lapses in circuit safety procedures.
