HILLSBORO Ore. (KPTV) – Prosecutors are seeking a more severe sentence against the man accused of murdering a Beaverton nurse, according to recently released court documents.
Melissa Jubane, a 32-year-old nurse at Providence St. Vincent, had been married just weeks before she was reported missing. Two days later on Sept. 4., she was found dead.

Last month, he pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping and second-degree abuse of a corpse.
In a court filing by the Washington County District Attorney’s Office dated Oct. 17, the prosecution asks for a jury to find an enhanced sentence. An enhanced sentence is a longer or more severe punishment for a crime due to certain circumstances.
