Bomb squad recovers hand grenade from attic of Defiance home [Video]

DEFIANCE, Ohio — The Northwest Ohio Bomb Squad was called to a home in Defiance after a man made an explosive discovery in the attic of a home. 

According to a press release from Toledo police, just after 4 p.m. on Thursday, the man was cleaning out the attic of his brother’s leftover military items when he spotted a live hand grenade.

The bomb squad arrived at the home and collected the grenade for disposal.
