WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – The Marty Bus is outgrowing its current location by Whitewater Music Hall in Wausau.
The Marathon County Community Outreach Task Force created the repurposed motorcoach three years ago to provide meals and other essentials for people who need them.
The Marty Bus is filled with clothing, shoes, hygiene products, and more. Soon it will be filled with people in the winter. They plan to create more programs to help more people but they need more donations.
It’s not just people in Wausau who get help from the Marty Bus. One woman from Mosinee donates to the bus after learning her family uses it.
“My ex-husband is actually homeless and I was trying to help him, but through helping him I was made aware of this community and my son has also struggled with addiction and has been homeless,” said Brianna Gates.
