NC Oyster Festival to kick off with Community Night on Friday [Video]

OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. (WECT) – The 43rd annual NC Oyster Festival has set its Kickoff Event for Friday, Oct. 18, with doors opening at 4:30 p.m. at Town Center Park.

Partakers will be able to see the first unveiling of the 43rd Annual T-shirts and exclusive NC Oyster Festival print by local artist Keith White. T-shirts will be able to be purchased at their T-shirt trailer on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Festival vendors are not open during Friday’s Community Night, but residents can still explore and support the local Ocean Isle Beach businesses for dining and refreshments.

The festival activities will continue into the weekend, with contests including oyster shucking, oyster eating and an oyster stew cook-off.
