LAWTON, Okla. (KAUZ) – The Lawton Fire Department’s Swift Water Rescue Team has returned from Orlando, Florida after being deployed in preparation for Hurricane Milton.
The team of seven, consisting of six rescue technicians and one battalion chief, left Lawton on Monday, Oct. 7.
In a Facebook post by fire officials, they said the team completed their demobilization requirements and hit the road.
Their mission focused on providing critical support to communities impacted by the storm, according to the Lawton Fire Department.
