Local organization hosts 10th Indigenous Peoples Day Festival [Video]

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – One local organization is hosting its 10th Indigenous Peoples Day Festival in Tucson’s southside. At the intersection of South 4th Ave and E. 26th, community members can explore foods, live music, vendors, and more made by indigenous-owned businesses.

Indigenous Alliance without Borders is the group in charge of this year’s event. Vendor organizer Josie Rios says events like the festival are one way the organization shines a light on the Indigenous community.

“I’m really excited,” she said. “Not only do I get to be a part of the event, I get to see it from the other side from being a vendor as well.”

Rios was unable to attend last year’s event but is back this year to oversee the vendors.
