On Oct. 15, the Prince of Wales, 42, stepped out with a beard at his latest engagement — a community event hosted by the NFL Foundation UK in London — two months after he debuted the new look. King Charles‘ elder son wore sporty white sneakers and received a personalized jersey emblazoned with “HRH” (shorthand for “His Royal Highness”), but the takeaway fashion statement was that he seems to be sticking with the beard.
Prince William had been previously known to go clean-shaven, as do most men in the British royal family. The proclivity may have stemmed from military tradition, as the British Army only lifted its beard ban for serving soldiers and officers earlier this year, and royals including William have previously served.
