`Scary’ 5K, `Trunk-or-Treat’ Oct. 19 at Prairie Springs Park [Video]

A unique opportunity brought law enforcement recruits face to face with dinosaurs, superheroes and princesses at Gateway Technical College on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021.

The Gateway School of Protective and Human Services, including some of its academy students, took part in a community “trunk-or-treat” event for the Halloween season on the Kenosha campus, where children of all ages gathered up the goodies.

PLEASANT PRAIRIE — Village residents and area visitors are invited to the Halloween-themed activities at the trunk-or-treat and “Scary in the Prairie” 5K walk or run event on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Prairie Springs Park.

Kids can gather candy during a trunk-or-treat event from 2:30-4:30 p.m. on the west side of Lake Andrea, near the beer garden parking lot at 10023 Park Drive. The free event features local businesses and organizations handing out treats from decorated trunks. Families are encouraged to wear costumes.
