CROMWELL, Conn. — After Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton recently wreaked havoc down south, thousands of Americans need support, and many Connecticut residents are stepping up.
Donating to those who have been affected by the back-to-back hurricanes is a great way to help, but the Better Business Bureau Serving Connecticut recommends asking several questions before sending funds or items to the impacted areas. The BBB Wise Giving Alliance lists six specific questions to ask.
First, can the charity provide fast assistance?
The BBB encourages residents to see if the disaster relief charity has an on-the-ground presence in the areas that need assistance. If they don’t have staff there already, it may be difficult to make a quick difference. Check each charity’s website to see how they can address immediate needs.
