Social media has seen plenty of literary classics turned into modern memes, and one enthusiast took this trend to heart with a 27th birthday cake inspired by Jane Austen.

Brooke Fest, known online as @librarybrookes, tried her hand at humor by creating a comical birthday cake for her friend, resulting in a viral Instagram video that has left viewers online in stitches.

The video, which was shared to Instagram on September 30, showed writer and content creator Fest applying the finishing touches to a chocolate cake she had baked and adorned with three witty checkboxes.

The checkboxes read: “27 years, money, prospects, parents burdened, frightened.”

These phrases cleverly reference a famous line from Jane Austen’s 1813 novel, Pride and Prejudice.
