KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A new report card has found that American children average a D- when it comes to the recommended daily dose of physical activity.
The University of Kansas Medical Center announced on Thursday, Oct. 10, that the Physical Activity Alliance, a nationwide coalition dedicated to regular physical activity, released the 2024 United States Report Card on Physical Activity for Children and Youth.
Overall, health officials indicated that the overall physical activity grade for youth remained at a D-, the same grade received in 2022 with the release of the last report card.
The University of Kansas Health System noted that Bethany Forseth, Ph.D., a researcher and assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Science and Athletic Training, led the report card’s fitness section.
