LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – In Lincoln and beyond, affordable housing and healthcare is pivotal in creating a thriving community. Soon, a new development will not only provide that housing, but will also give one Lincoln clinic a new home, helping them serve the people that need it the most.
This month, Clinic with a Heart is celebrating 21 years of serving the Lincoln community.
For the last 12 years, the clinic has operated out of their space in the Near South neighborhood. By 2026, they hope to be able to expand those services and help even more people thanks to a new housing development.
Two decades ago, Clinic with a Heart started with a few boxes of supplies and empty offices around the community.
“They would set up shop, and people knew where to go, and they would use people’s offices for exam rooms,” executive director of Clinic with a Heart, Nancy Johner said.
