NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (KCRG) – The North Liberty Food Pantry is moving to a much larger building to give out more food.
Judy Bonnet has spent many, many hours volunteering at the North Liberty food pantry.
“6,000, I’m almost to 7,000,” Bonnet said.
In her 14 years volunteering here, she’s done just about everything. Whether its stocking shelves or going on shopping runs for the pantry.
“I needed something to do, I’m one of these people that does stuff all the time,” Bonnet said.
What started as a way to pass the time turned into more and more hours. Across her years of volunteering, she’s seen the pantry take on a lot of changes.
“It was a teeny tiny little place we were in at first, and when we moved in here we thought we had the world,” Bonnet said.
The food pantry’s current location’s a far cry from the church closet it originally started in. But, …
