KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Students in the Hickman Mills C-1 School District will now get hands-on experience to help them better transition to the workforce.
Hickman Mills C-1 School District officials announced on Friday, Oct. 4, that they celebrated a major milestone with the grand opening of the new Real-World Learning Center which was held on Monday.
Administrators indicated that the Learning Center, located at 10301 Hickman Mills Dr., marks the first new district building to open in more than a decade to advance innovative education and community development.
Superintendent Yaw Obeng, the School Board of Directors and elected officials joined together to cut the ribbon on the new facility. Officials said the event drew a large gathering from the community and local leaders.
The District noted that U.S. Congressman Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) served as the special guest for the celebration.
