PIERRE, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – A South Dakota legislative committee is continuing to work towards making internet access a safer place, especially for minors.
The Study Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Internet Access Regulation by Minors in South Dakota has tried its best to work with social media platform owners and artificial intelligence companies to best define where they can go going forward, which includes trying to find a definition for things like A.I.
On Wednesday, the committee met with Meta, who owns Instagram and Facebook.
“Bringing in not only industry professionals but education folks and try to come up with a system that would help or parents and grandparents with managing internet access,” said Rep. Mike Weisgram (R-Fort Pierre).
