MOUNTAIN CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – Johnson County is working to get resources together to provide for those in need. The county’s 911 office said it has been without internet since Friday, making it very difficult for them to get in touch with first responders.
Kevin Colson, 911 Director for Johnson County, told News Channel 11 that they did receive Starlink internet, and now operations can run smoothly.
“It is going to benefit us greatly to get more information that we need from outside resources, we didn’t have any contact as far as e-mail, that sort of thing with anybody outside,” said Colson. “Now we’re able to send out text messages to our first responders, get the information to them that that they need since our radio towers have limited service at this time.”
