BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — On Oct. 1, Bakersfield Police will be one of many law enforcement agencies across the country celebrating National Night Out, an event that aims to bring the community and the department together.
You can meet different units and K-9 officers from the BPD from 6 to 9 p.m. at Yokuts Park. You will have the chance of checking out the equipment BPD uses to help patrol neighborhoods and crime scenes.
You can cool off at the event with free Thrifty’s ice cream and mingle with BPD staff.
On Oct. 3, BPD will recognize officers at a promotion ceremony. The ceremony will be held at the City Council Chamber located at 1501 Truxtun Avenue, beginning at 9 a.m.
