COLLEGE PARK, Md. (DC News Now) — Families and students near the University of Maryland may soon have more opportunities to safely bike around Prince George’s County.
The College Park City – University Partnership, a local non-profit, is rolling out a plan to expand bike lanes.
University of Maryland student Emily Isaacson supports the potential bike path expansion and hopes it will become a reality. She depends on her bike every day for transportation.
“I think it is really exciting. I use the Rhode Island Avenue Trolley Trail every day and I don’t have a car [so] my bike is my only mode of transportation,” she said.

The proposed plan is to build an off-campus bike lane along Campus Drive that will connect the University of Maryland to the Trolley Trail on Rhode Island Avenue.
College Park resident Max Degregorio said it would make the community more bikeable for families and students.
