Wichita man shoots wife after dropping kids off at school [Video]

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office says a man shot his wife outside of a Wichita elementary school Monday morning after taking a Lyft to drop their kids off at school. According to the sheriff’s office, the man was then shot and wounded by a deputy who responded to the scene. The couple’s children were already inside the building when the incident occurred. Around 9:15 a.m., the sheriff’s office was called to the initial shooting outside Cessna Elementary School located at 2101 West 45th Street South.According to Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter, a witness reportedly saw the man shoot his wife in the chest after getting into a dispute outside of their ride-share vehicle.“We have a domestic dispute,” Easter said at a press briefing following the incident. “A husband and wife were brought here along with their kids by a Lyft driver.
