WILBUR, Wash. – Students at the Wilbur Creston Cooperative School District are uniting around a beloved tradition—football.
The Wilbur-Creston High School Wildcats are participating in a fundraising competition to renovate their football field. So far, the team has raised $5,000 and hopes to fully fund the renovation of their stadium.
Wilbur Creston Schools Superintendent Jay Tyus reflected on the community impact that football has created for his students and the wider town.
“All of our football stories, all of our stadium stories, all of our community volunteer stories kept pouring in, all of the opportunity to celebrate our boys, this community and this space that we all share,” Tyus said.
While the fundraising continues, the Wildcats maintain their status as the number one ranked 1B high school football team in the State of Washington.
More information on the fundraising efforts can be found on the school district’s facebook.
