Northeast Alabama Regional Airport hosting 4th annual fly-in event [Video]

GADSDEN, Ala. (WIAT) — The Northeast Alabama Regional Airport is hosting its fourth annual fly-in event Saturday, which allows aviators and the community to come together to enjoy aircraft of all types on site at the airport.

Folks will have hands-on experience with aviation, and pilots and aircraft owners will network and connect with their other enthusiasts.

Michael Rodgers is the public affairs coordinator for the City of Gadsden and joined CBS 42 Morning News on Saturday to talk about the event.

“It’s kind of like an air show without the aerial display,” Rodgers said. “They have static displays, so people will bring in planes, and you can connect with the pilots and get to see them up close. It’s great for kids and families, and it’s free.”
