Euclid schools arent planning changes to sporting events following deadly shooting [Video]

EUCLID, Ohio (WJW) — Euclid City Schools officials said they’re not taking any additional steps to make sporting events more secure, despite a fatal mass shooting near the high school following a football game late last month.

But Euclid police said they’re now getting support from the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for sporting events.

The shooting at East 222nd Street and Nicholas Avenue, which happened at about 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, more than an hour after the game, killed 17-year-old Sincere Rowdy and injured four other teens.

Authorities arrested a 15-year-old who’s now facing murder and other charges in the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court.

A week after the shooting, Euclid school officials told FOX 8 News they had no plans for changes to extracurricular activities. A statement from a spokesperson reads:
