Fundraising effort to bring a new museum to Preston | News [Video]

PRESTON, Minn. – The Preston Historical Society is raising money to transform the former Preston Dairy and Farm building into the Preston Depot Museum and Riverfront Center.

The group is aiming to collect $400,000 to establish a new facility where visitors can admire regional artifacts and enjoy city celebrations. The building will act as a place to revisit the past, host events and offer an office space for the Preston Historical Society.

The first benchmark is reaching $200,000 to demolish the old building. The group said it already collected a third of the amount. 

“We’re excited about bringing the community together behind something they can really be proud of. We are very thankful to be off to a very good start,” said Jon DeVries of the Preston Historical Society.

The next $200,000 will be spent on building the new facility.
