Birmingham Food + Culture Fest kicks off four-day event in the Magic City [Video]

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The second annual Birmingham Food + Culture Fest kicked off at the Birmingham Museum of Art Thursday afternoon.

During the festival’s first day, the Frank Stitt Award for Industry Excellence is presented to an outstanding leader in the culinary craft world. This year’s recipient is Glenn Roberts, the Founder and CEO of Anson Mills.

Among the participating chefs is Pizza Grace’s Ryan Westover, who has been serving up sourdough pizzas in the historic Mercantile on Morris. He says the event is a great networking opportunity.

“It brings a lot of light to the food scene and especially small businesses in Birmingham,” he said. “It gives us a chance to enjoy each other.”
