Hezbollah Devices Could Have Been Detonated With Remote Servers: Security Expert [Video]

Remote servers may have been used to detonate pagers and walkie-talkies controlled by Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon and Syria, a cybersecurity expert has told Newsweek.

The servers synchronize the clocks on pagers, allowing the attackers a detonation route, he said.

Israel is widely believed to be behind the attacks but has not commented officially, after at least 30 people were killed in two days.

Joseph Steinberg, who advises businesses around the world on cybersecurity, was reacting to the mass detonation of thousands of devices on Tuesday, killing at least 12 people, including two young children, and 20 people on Wednesday, with thousands more wounded across both days.
