$36 million was awarded to five counties, including Erie and Monroe, to fund projects for permanent supportive housing.
ALBANY, N.Y. — Governor Kathy Hochul announced Friday that $36 million was awarded to five counties, including Erie and Monroe, in New York State to fund projects for permanent supportive housing.
The result will be 249 new units of housing for individuals and families who’ve experienced homelessness, according to the governor’s press release.
The Episcopal Community Housing Development Organization will be supporting Erie County’s community.
The $3.8 million will be allotted for this project that will fund a community comprised of 16 units for adults 55 years old and older.
This housing will be located in the Village of Angola and will include laundry facilities, a large green space outdoors, and a 52-space parking lot. The proposal discusses the construction of a three-story building.
