CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — More than 40 students turned themselves in to Alice ISD school officials, admitting to being issued citations or drinking at house party last weekend, according to a press release from the district.
In a letter sent home Wednesday, Alice ISD Athletics Director Joe Castellano told parents and students they had until Thursday to self-report whether they used or possessed alcohol that night, and if they were issued a citation or not.
The students who self-reported now will be required to attend a 4-hour drug-and-alcohol counseling session.
“I think parents need to definitely talk to their kids about what’s going on out there,” said Eric Enim, an Alice parent who’s child attends Alice High School.
