Connecticut police try to fill vacancies [Video]

MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A recruitment fair held Friday sought to help Connecticut State Police fill its ranks.

The event in Meriden also included recruiters at the federal and local levels. More than 70 agencies were in attendance.

“Law enforcement numbers are down,” said Eric Fredricks, the community engagement officer for the Waterford Police Department. “So, we are just trying to draw in a number of candidates, and so they can check out every police department in the state, and see what’s the best fit for them.”

About 500 potential law enforcement employees attended.
