VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – Another Vigo County student was arrested two days after another threat at a school.
This threat involved Sarah Scott Middle School in Terre Haute on September 12. Other students within the school reported the social media threat.
The school corporation said police immediately launched an investigation, leading to an arrest almost immediately.
This threat follows a string of four other separate threats at Otter Creek Middle School, Woodrow Wilson Middle School, North Vigo High School and South Vigo High School. These previous threats were made on September 11.
In a Thursday press conference held before the Sarah Scott arrest, city and county officials said this is not an isolated trend, adding there have been reported threats across the states. The four arrested on Wednesday are facing charges.
In the same press conference, police said the threats were on social media, mainly using Snapchat.
