New Orleans Hurricane Francine school closures [Video]

Hurricane Francine caused widespread power outages and flooding across Southeast Louisiana. As crews continue to assess damage, some schools are announcing closures for Friday, Sept. 13. The following schools have announced closures: Lafourche Parish:All Lafourche Parish schools will remain closed on Friday, Sept. 13. Terrebonne Parish: Due to extensive power outages and conditions throughout our community, all schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 13, 2024.St. Tammany Parish: St. Tammany Parish Public School officials are carefully assessing all school campuses and working closely with parish officials and emergency responders to evaluate conditions in our parish. At this time, we have many schools without power. We will fully evaluate the situation and make determinations about Friday by Thursday at 5 p.m. Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this storm.
