Former Brewer student makes it to showbiz | Local News [Video]

BREWER– A former Brewer student is now on the big screen, and she says she owes it all to her family, her community and her time spent doing local theatre.

Growing up Teal Jackson had always been drawn to the stage.

“I started acting at 8-years-old,” she said. “My start with acting started at the Penobscot Theatre in Bangor. My dad used to work there. I used to go there after school with my sister and stuff box office tickets.”

Jackson, who was an amazing track athlete, set records at Brewer High School before attending UMaine and later moving to California for her big break.

“My first job ever in L.A. was given to me by someone from MDI, who knew I was moving out here and was like, ‘You need a job? Come work here,'” Jackson said. “And my second job was given to me by someone from K…
