Women interested in the hospitality and tourism industry gathered at the Petroleum Club in Anchorage.
The training event called SHE Light (Strength, Heart, and Excellence) was sponsored by the Alaska CHARR.
The three-part workshop included several interactive training sessions and exercises concerning critical thinking, strategies for stress management, and identifying trend analysis.
“It provides an incredible amount of opportunity for women in leadership roles outside of your standard four-year college degree program and workshops like this and support from other women and other leaders like this is really essential to to the growth of women in our industry,” explained Sarah Oates with Alaska CHARR.
Alaska CHARR is described as “the hospitality leader for workforce development, legislative representation, advocacy, and industry training.” Their mission is “dedicated to advancing, serving, and protecting Alaska’s hospitality and foodservice industry.”
