SUFFOLK, Va. — A dog was rescued from a fire at a Suffolk home early Saturday morning.
Suffolk Fire & Rescue were called to the 200 block of Berry Ridge Lane at 2:33 a.m., according to a press release from Chief Michael Barakey. They arrived at 2:37 a.m. to find heavy fire showing from the two-story home, with the siding on the neighbor’s home already melting and smoking.
At 2:58 a.m., the incident commander ordered an evacuation of all interior crews due to untenable conditions inside the structure. An exterior attack was continued until 3:25 a.m., when crews were able to re-enter the structure. The fire was placed under control at 3:53 a.m.
One dog was rescued from the home, received emergency medical care from paramedics and firefighters, and is doing well, the press release stated. No citizens or …
