The Woodmore schools superintendent said they were informed a shooting happened on John Adams College and Career Academy’s campus as the team was arriving.
CLEVELAND — Woodmore High School’s football game in Cleveland was canceled Friday after a reported shooting on the campus of John Adams College and Career Academy.
According to a social media post from the Woodmore Local Schools superintendent, the district was informed a gun was discharged during an alleged altercation between two students on the perimeter of the school’s campus as the Wildcats were arriving by bus to the school in southeast Cleveland.
The post from Mary Schaeffer says law enforcement was at the scene when Woodmore arrived and secured it. The team was then escorted back to the bus to return to Elmore.
Schaeffer said the team was expected to arrive back at Woodmore High School around 6:15-6:30 p.m. on Friday.
