Integrated satellite and terrestrial network operator Intelsat has announced a partnership with Stellenbosch University and Johannesburg Correctional Services. The trio are collaborating on the delivery of high-quality educational content to female inmates across South Africa’s prison system.

Intelsat notes that the initiative leverages the power of its satellite technology to bring transformative educational resources to some of the most marginalised members of South African society, as well as offering them a chance at a brighter future.

“Stellenbosch (University) has embarked on a mission to ensure that female inmates in South Africa can complete their high school education with the appropriate resources to improve their chances for successful reintegration into society,” Intelsat explained in a release shared with Hypertext.
