The Port 460 was developed in response to the recent increased activity and future capacity at the Port of Virginia.
SUFFOLK, Va. — The official groundbreaking ceremony for the Port 460 Logistics Center in Suffolk was held on Wednesday.
The center is a joint venture partnership between the Rockefeller Group and the Matan Companies. The five-million-square-foot industrial development will span 500 acres in Suffolk near the Port of Virginia.
According to the Port 460 website, the location of the project is “advantageous” to the logistics and distribution infrastructure of Hampton Roads.
“A modern gateway offering efficiency, innovation and incredible reach. The location offers the strategic advantage to deliver to 75% of the U.S. population in 2 days,” the website states.
In July, Governor Glen Youngkin announced a $30.1 million investment from the Transportation Partnership Opportunity Fund (TPOF) to support Port 460.
