As the 2024 general election campaigns enter the post-Labor Day phase, U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer and her independent opponent, Dan Osborn, spent Tuesday touting their support from labor unions and organizations.
Thirteen labor unions and trade associations gathered at the Omaha Firefighters Hall to endorse the incumbent Fischer, a Republican, in her bid for a third Senate term. Fischer said the number of labor organizations supporting her has doubled, compared with her 2018 campaign.
Meanwhile, Osborn, a former union leader, appears to have maintained his ties to unions as his campaign said 23 unions have endorsed him in his bid to unseat Fischer.
