TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Finding the right path can be a challenge for recent high school graduates. That’s why one local non-profit is starting a program to help transition them into the workforce by partnering with companies in our area to see what might be the right fit for them.

Organizers told 13 Action News they saw a need for this kind of program in our community.

“We have 30 students here on Lourdes University campus and they are on a nine-month journey to discover what their future is gonna be, both professionally and personally,” Julia Simon, Event and Marketing Manager for Junior Achievement said.

Junior Achievement’s fifth-year program allows recent graduates to see what career options interest them.

“We have students that graduate from high school and they’re expected to know what they want to do with the rest of their lives and it’s an unrealistic expectation,” Simon said.
