Pine Tree ISD earns 3rd straight state arts education award [Video]

LONGVIEW, Texas — Only 94 school districts received the Texas Art Education Association’s 2024 District of Distinction award. An even smaller number of districts — 14 — earned the honor three times in a row. Pine Tree ISD recently became one of them.

The distinction recognizes Texas school districts that satisfy at least 12 of 14 requirements, ranging from hosting student art shows and submitting art to state competitions, to field trips, social media promotion and community outreach.

Pine Tree ISD educators and leadership expressed excitement about the news, but not surprise. They described a decade-long, top-to-bottom push prioritizing the arts across the district’s seven campuses.
