ADAMS COUNTY, Wash. — Deputies in Adams County arrested two Othello men after they allegedly stole a forklift.
According to a press release from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were notified on August 19 about a stolen Genie Telehandler Forklift in the 1900 block of West Hatton Road. Three days later, on Aug. 22, the complainant reported seeing the stolen forklift near the intersection of State Route 24 and West Hampton Road.
Deputies responded quickly to the location and subsequently arrested the suspects: Shayne Kulgen, 43, and Jordan Blaak, 26, both from Othello. The men were booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree theft.
While in custody, Blaak attempted to escape during a medical evaluation but was promptly recaptured. Additional charges of third-degree attempted escape have been forwarded to the prosecutor, according to the sheriff’s office.
