CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – A seven-stop hair tour made its last stop in the Lowcountry today, giving free cuts and styles to kids for the back-to-school season.
TikToker and founder of non-profit Touch of Love J’Carria Vance, also known as “Jay Slay,” partnered up with multiple Hair Depot stores across the Carolinas to give back to the community.
On this tour, they were also able to give away free school supplies, backpacks and food to families.
Vance says the overall theme of this tour is, when you look good, you feel good as they build up kids’ confidence.
“Their confidence is affected, which means their grades are affected, and like I said, when you look good, you feel good,” she said. “Your head’s high and you’re willing to listen you know there’s no distractions.”
