A COSTCO member was confused after being stopped while trying to pay in the self-checkout aisle.
But they left the store fuming after being questioned over their ID pic.
The shopper shared their unsettling experience on X/formerly Twitter, after visiting Costco earlier this month.
They said the worker was unhappy as their credit card lacked photographic evidence proving her identity.
The staffer demanded to see the customer’s alternative proof – which riled them.
“Costco, just got stopped in the self-checkout lane because my credit card lacks a photo,” they said.
“Employee demanded my DL [driver’s license] or passport.
“If only they put this much effort into actual member service… #CostcoFail.”
The U.S. Sun has contacted Costco for comment on the shopper’s complaint.
