With the NFL season coming next week, we have another trade break. The Cleveland Browns have traded defensive tackle Chris Williams and a 2025 seventh-round draft pick to the Chicago Bears for a 2025 sixth-round draft pick.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport broke the news on social media.
Williams first joined the NFL in 2020 when he signed with the Indianapolis Colts practice squad. He played college at Wagner, where he stood out.
He earned Second-Team All-NEC honors in 2018 and First-Team honors during his senior season. His performance during his final year helped get him into the NFL as Williams posted 62 tackles, including 11.5 of them for loss. He also racked up four sacks on the year as well, showing his ability to get into the backfield.
