Three alleged gang members charged in Mt. Olympus shooting [Video]

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office has announced three people, including a juvenile, have been charged in connection to their alleged involvement in a deadly shooting at Mount Olympus trailhead.

Sam Gill announced those charges today in a press release.

Earlier this month, deputies were dispatched to Mt. Olympus Trailhead for a welfare check on a male parked in the trailhead’s parking lot. They found the man dead after he was allegedly shot in the front seat of a car.

Other details were also released about the shooting, saying another person was with the deceased male and escaped before police arrived at the scene.

According to a press release from the DA’s office, detectives found a palm print on one of the windows of the victim’s car. The palm print matched a juvenile and known Florencia 13 gang member.
