KSP investigating shooting in Christian County [Video]

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) – The Kentucky State Police are investigating a shooting following a multi-county pursuit involving a suspect from a shooting in Hardin County.

At 8:49 a.m., KSP Post 4 (Elizabethtown) was notified that an ‘Attempt to Locate’ was initiated for a male subject, Christopher Elder, believed to be involved in an earlier domestic violence shooting incident in Elizabethtown.

According to the press release, Elder’s silver 2008 Hyundai Elantra vehicle was observed near Greenville. Officers with the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office and Greenville Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

He failed to stop and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. The pursuit continued into Christian County and ended when the suspect turned from KY 189 onto Judges Chapel Road, where he stopped his vehicle in a parking lot.

Officials from multiple agencies attempted to communicate with him and de-escalate the situation to get a peaceful surrender, per the press release.
