Two men facing charges after violent road rage incident, shooting near MITs campus, police say Boston 25 News [Video]

CAMBRIDGE, Mass — Two men are facing charges after a violent road rage incident led to a shooting just feet from MIT’s campus Sunday.

Police responded to reports of a shooting near the MIT Sailing Pavilion on Memorial Drive around 5:15 p.m., according to Massachusetts State Police.

An initial investigation revealed that two drivers who did not know each other were involved in a road rage incident. One driver, Cesar Gutierrez, 65, of Revere allegedly hit the other, Kevin Osorio, 30, of Boston, with a blunt object.

Osorio then drew his gun and fired several shots at Gutierrez, state police say.

“Osorio possessed a license to carry at the time of the incident, and his firearm was recovered on scene along with several shell casings,” a state police spokesperson said.

Both men were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital to be treated for their serious injuries.
