Hospital employee accused of stealing from patients [Video]

An employee at a Spartanburg County, South Carolina, hospital is accused of taking advantage of patients and stealing from them. The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation began on July 30 when a woman, whose mother was a patient at Mary Black Hospital, filed a report. The report said that a hospital employee convinced the patient to unlock her phone and then transferred $320 from the victim’s account to the employee’s PayPal account. Another transfer of $514 was attempted but was unsuccessful, investigators said. They said another woman filed a report on Aug. 1 that her mother’s mobile phone had been stolen while she was a patient at Mary Black and used it to order two televisions, a wall mount, and a TV stand from the victim’s Amazon app in the amount of over $600.
